Overview
The INRIA Kinovis platform is intended to capture shapes in motion, typically a moving human body. To this purpose the practical acquisition space is approximately 8mx5m and surrounded by 2 acquisition systems:
- A color cameras system that provides full shape and appearance information with 3D textured meshes, that was using a first setup from 2015, and has been rejuvenated in 2024-2025, see details below
- A standard Qualisys Mocap (Motion capture) system composed of 20 cameras that provides infrared reflective marker trajectories
Kinovis 2, 2025
The Color camera system consists in 57 IOI cameras. The new software pipeline allows among other improvements to get rid of the green background.
Kinovis 1, 2015-2024
The Color camera system consists in 68 4MPixels cameras. The software pipeline is based on the 4DViews platform and requires a green background stage for the segmentation step.
